A POEM FROM THE IIT-PREP DAYS
This poem expresses what my mind was going through during IIT preparation. I started to enjoy the concepts when I began to understand them. But before that, I was very shaky and I wanted to give up. I wasn't getting any results though I was working hard. I could see my friends and classmates scoring very well. I was struggling. I had chosen to prepare for IIT, the thunder. This is a poem that speaks about the times when you feel like nothing is working. You want to give up so badly. But you got to hold on, cause in the end, you are going to be happy and proud about yourself. All efforts are worth the goal you have decided for yourself. Just keep walking and you'll reach the end where the sun is shining, and there is no regret.
THE THUNDER
I chose the thunder, I chose...
and there was no way out;
I looked around and saw darkness
my mind full of doubts...
As I walked a lonely walk,
I stumbled upon a rock
It asked, "Oh traveller, where do you
plan to reach?"
"I don't know", I said, "Then," said it, "Don't stop."
That one day I will see the light
and this darkness will fade away
never will it touch me again
and the night will turn into day.
Then I met an old man,
full of spirit and life
I asked him the secret of his happiness,
he said, "Keep hope and smile..."
I met a sand clock in the path,
it's sand rushing so fast,
it told me, "This is the time to strive...
and this too shall pass."
As I walked and walked, it occurred to me
that the clouds weren't above me anymore
the lightning and the rains had ceased
there was no wild wind, but a gentle breeze.
My clothes weren't as good, nor was my face;
I stood motionless, my lips were chained
as I realised that this was it,
the storm had ended and I had survived till the end.
Every single moment till now,
I had regretted choosing the thunder
But now that I am here,
stronger and wiser,
I have no regrets as now I have got
the whole sky to wander.

That's such an inspirational and heartwarming poem!!❤️
